The Day I Went Hungry, But Had A Very Full Heart

*With Guest Star Kyah Jaco*

While Sitting Down to Lunch

We searched for a place to sit. Most the tables had already been claimed, but we were just lucky enough to find one in the right corner. Our group over filled the table by one person and since I had already been holding her, I volunteered to have Kyah sit on my lap. Unfortunately the tables were already set so I had no plate. I was a bit hungry, but mostly I was ok with it because I was enjoying this precious time with Kyah.
However Kyah is a very, very smart girl and noticed right away that I was going hungry.

"Wheres your plate Ashley?" She asked looking concerned.

"Oh, Ashley doesn't have a plate. Ashley is a poor plateless orphan. No one Loves Ashley." I said trying to make her laugh with a funny pretend sad face.

"I love Ashley!" She said and turned around and gave me a big hug.

The End

Kyah, you fill my heart with joy. This will always be a precious moment for me. Its been a pleasure to watch you grow and learn. Love, Auntie Ash-a-lee

Chipped Tooth

While Sitting In The Car At a Red Light

"What's wrong with your tooth?" My mom asked Daniel. "Open your mouth." She demanded.

"Ahh..." He opened it as wide as he could.

"You chipped your tooth!" She said, distressed. "What did you do?"

"I have no idea! I haven't fallen down." He looked like he was thinking really hard. And then it dawned on him. "Oh! I have started doing this recently." He said as he began to punch himself in the mouth over and over.

My mother put her head in her hands.

Yellow is More Your Color

While Trying to Get Emliy Out of Bed

It was dinner time at my Papa’s cabin. Emily was still napping so my mom went to wake her.
“Emily,” she crooned “It’s time to wake up precious girl.” She said while shaking her gently.
Emily murmured a little bit and rolled over.
“Emily, wake up sweetie. It’s time to eat.” My mother tried again.
Emily rolled over, eyes still closed, and started to pet mom’s hair. “Hmm, this is nice,” she said and pursed her lips “But do think we could get this in yellow?” She asked. Then she rolled over and continued sleeping.

I Saved His Life, You Guys...

While Camping Out In The Trailer

Daniel and I were sharing a mattress on the floor. He had been sleeping for an hour or so, but I was having trouble drifting off. My eyes were getting heavy when suddenly Daniel rolled over and sat up, startled in his sleep.
“Ashley! I need your help!” He said in a shaky voice
“What’s wrong? Are you twisted in your sleeping bag?” I asked as I began to rearrange his pillow and bag.
“Ashley!” He said in an aggravated tone, “I need your help!”
“What do you need buddy?”  I asked again. He seemed like he didn’t hear me.
“Ash-a-ley!”  he growled a little bit, “I am stuck in the snow! I need your help!” He said a little panicky toward the end.
It was then I realized he was still asleep. I picked him up a little bit and then set him back down again. He rolled over, muttered “Thanks. Thanks soo much, Ashley,” then resumed snoring right where he left off.
